For a long time, I believed our system of checks and balances would hold strong. But now, I fear those checks are failing, and our balance has tipped. I can’t stay silent any longer—my conscience won’t let me.
I’ve chosen to remain anonymous to protect my family, some of whom aren’t comfortable with public attention. The beauty of a democracy is the freedom to make our own choices, and I respect my family’s decision to stay out of the public eye—especially in a time when speaking freely can be controversial.
